Biography
Chelsea Gilmore was born in the rural community of Sombra, Ontario. She has resided and worked in the area until 2013 when she enrolled into Fanshawe College in Culinary Management /Apprenticeship. After one year of the program, Chelsea realized business was her strength. In September 2014, Chelsea is enrolled in a Business Program at Fanshawe College. This course entails a grounded education in business marketing, finance, accounting and management. After completing her business program, Chelsea plans to seek employment as a restaurant manager and in the future own and manage her personal restaurant.
Chelsea started working in the restaurant business when she was 17. She started as a dishwasher in a fine dining restaurant The Aft Cabin. Chelsea worked her way up the ranks to sous chef at the Aft Cabin. As well as going to school full time, Chelsea worked as a sous chef cooking appetizers, cooking vegetables, opening and closing the restaurant. (You might want to add about adding the pub night here. Chelsea had the privilege to volunteer in her church and community. She has served many dinners and social evenings. She sings in the youth choir, and ushers when she returns home on the weekends. In the community, Chelsea volunteers for Port Lambton Gala Days and Sombra Days Festivals assisting where needed. Chelsea enjoys her community and hopes to one day own her own restaurant in the area.
Through the years, Chelsea has been involved in in dance, figure skating, baseball, and hockey. Presently, she is a pitcher for a girls’ softball team. At school, she ran track and field, 3,000 meter, 1500 meter and 800 meter. She continues to jog on the local St. Clair River Trail when she returns home.
In closing, Chelsea believes that food is one of the few common denominators linking people. She loves providing a wide variety of customers with a mutually enjoyable experience. She is excited and committed to customer service and satisfaction while creating unique dining experience.
